Job Description

Title Air Quality Meteorologist Department(s) Air Section Reports to Shane Hansen Job summary Under general supervision performs skilled duties in the installation, maintenance and repair of ambient air monitoring equipment. Work includes performing quality assurance checks on data and reporting data to clients. Travel throughout the United States is required, as well as possible international travel. All tasks will need to be performed safely and proficiently.

Summary of essential job functions

• Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control checks on data generated by meteorological monitoring systems

• Calibrate meteorological systems, gaseous analyzers, particulate monitors

• Audit meteorological systems, gaseous analyzers, particulate monitors

• Maintain, operate, and install gaseous systems/sites, meteorological systems, particulate monitors

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology or related field Abilities required Work outdoors in inclement weather, work independently, operate MS Office programs, and lift and carry 70 pounds. Stand, crouch, sit for extended periods, work at heights, climb instrument towers, and walk on uneven ground.
