Manager/ Regional Extension Climate Specialist
The NOAA-funded Climate Impacts Research Consortium, hosted by Oregon
State University, has an immediate opening for a combination program
manager/ regional extension climate specialist, responsible for leading
We could hire either with a MS (in the “FRA” designation) or PhD (“RA”),
with a bit more emphasis on original research in the latter position.
Master’s degree in an area of social or natural sciences relevant to
climate or natural resources.
Familiarity with basic climate science and ability to articulate
knowledge of relevant literature.
Evidence of ability to manage and coordinate a multi-investigator,
multi-institutional, interdisciplinary research effort.
Demonstrable commitment to communicating science information to
non-scientists, computer skills to support communication, and excellent
written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Expertise in climate, watershed science or management, or landscape
science or management.
Experience in public outreach/extension.
