Postdoctoral Associate in Atmospheric Science

Looking for a Postdoctoral Associate to join a vibrant researchteam focused on performing and analyzing high-resolution simulationswith the Weather Research and Forecasting model (WRF). You willparticipate in research applying WRF to address research questions inthe realms of climate dynamics and wind energy applications. The jobduties include:• Compiling WRF-SWAN-ROMS model chain and WRF on various computing platforms.• Conducting and evaluating numerical downscaling simulations using WRF.• Develop publication-quality research manuscripts.• Data archiving using best-practice data provenance procedures.Qualifications• Ph.D. in atmospheric science, engineering, or related subject.• Experience with high-performance computing environments and theWeather Research and Forecasting model (WRF) is required.• Familiarity with coupling WRF to ocean models and with wind energyapplications is highly desirable.This is a full-time position and will be located in Ithaca, New York.This is a one-year appointment with possible extension depending onfunding and performance.Rewards and BenefitsWe hope you appreciate great benefits.
