NASA-GSFC is looking for a postdoctoral associate to work on research related to mesoscale modeling, land-atmosphere interactions and hydrology. Land surface and/or atmospheric modeling experience is preferred, specifically that involving WRF, community land surface models, soil moisture, data assimilation, PBL schemes, and hydrometeorological/forecast impacts. This work will partially contribute to a new project focused on the role of the land surface and soil moisture on the intensification of landfalling tropical cycles (known as the ‘Brown Ocean’ effect), led by Marshall Shepherd (UGA), Joe Santanello (NASA) and Sujay Kumar (NASA). The postdoc will work at NASA-GSFC with Dr. Santanello for a minimum of 2-years, with a start date by early 2018 preferred.
