Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Satellite Observation and Numerical Simulation

The Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at McGill University in Montreal, Canada seeks a postdoctoral fellow to lead a project to understand the water vapor distribution and variability in the upper-troposphere and lower-stratosphere (UTLS) region. The project will integrate high-resolution atmospheric modeling with satellite and aircraft observations to test mechanisms that control the UTLS water budgets.

Required qualifications include:
PhD in Atmospheric Sciences or a related discipline (e.g., Meteorology, Physics, Environmental Engineering, etc.) within 3 years (after 2015); and
Ability to conduct numerical experiments using the WRF-LES, GEM or similar high-resolution atmospheric models.
Experience of satellite retrieval or data analysis would be a valuable asset.

The initial appointment will be for one year, renewable contingent on satisfactory performance and funding availability. Interested candidates should contact Professor Yi Huang (yi.huang@mcgill.ca) by email, enclosing a curriculum vitae, transcripts of academic records, and names and contacts of no less than two references.
