Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Climate Science

The Missouri Climate Center and the Hydrology Research Group led byDr. Noel Aloysius at the University of Missouri is seeking aPostdoctoral Research Fellow to provide programmatic research- andoutreach-related support for projects related to climate change impactand adaptation assessments.Responsibilities include working with the faculty mentor,collaborators and graduate students to (i) evaluate IntergovernmentalPanel on Climate Change (IPCC) Coupled Model Intercomparison Projectphase 6 climate projections in the Midwestern United States and assesstheir relevance and impacts on agriculture, forestry and waterresources, (ii) assess changing weather patterns including severeweather in the Midwestern US using in-situ and remotely-sensed dataand develop tools and data products (e.g., climate change indices,estimates of crop water demand, drought assessment), (iii) providesupport related to data integration technologies to aid in testing,validating, and improving ecosystem model simulations, and (iv) helpprepare research proposals, project reports and manuscripts forpeer-reviewed publications. The Fellow will be given opportunities toparticipate in organized teaching, outreach and career developmentactivities, to present research findings at national conferences, andto mentor graduate and undergraduate students.The Fellow will be based at the University of Missouri in Columbia,Missouri, USA.
