Martin, Homeyer Move Into Associate Director Roles

Dr. Elinor Martin has been selected as the new Associate Director for Undergraduate Studies in the School of Meteorology. Dr. Martin is excited about working with the new leadership team to further enhance the undergraduate experience in the School of Meteorology. She told us that her biggest goal for the upcoming terms is to provide students with the opportunities and information to participate in programs that will enhance their educational experience and future career options. This includes undergraduate research within OU and with other organizations around the nation, internship opportunities with private sector companies and media outlets, and participation in the international exchange programs. Formerly, Dr. Cameron Homeyer held the Associate Director for Undergraduate Studies position, but Homeyer moved over to the Associate Director for Graduate Programs position following Dr. Jeffrey Basara’s appointment as Executive Associate Director for the Hydrology program in the Civil Engineering and Environmental Science department.

Dr. Homeyer will miss working with the undergraduate students on curricula, awards, and scholarships, but intends to remain fully involved through teaching, faculty advising, and supervising undergraduate research assistants. He sees the graduate position as an exciting opportunity to provide more opportunities for graduate teaching, research, governance, and service both within and outside of the School.

We’re grateful for the service of these two faculty members and look forward to their work.
