Research Interests:

  • Understanding the dynamics of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes using phased array and rapid-scan radars
  • Examining microphysical and dynamic processes in deep convection using polarimetric and rapid-scan radars
  • High-resolution numerical simulations of supercells and tornadoes, including their interaction with complex terrain and buildings
  • Assessment of the benefits and design tradeoffs of a future operational phased array radar network
  • Radar simulation using advanced electromagnetic scattering calculations and atmospheric models
  • Developing and fielding transformative radar technology for atmospheric science research
