Lily Raye

Lily Raye is a junior in the OU School of Meteorology from Frisco, Texas. She is a 2020 NOAA Hollings Scholar minoring in Math and her main interests include severe weather research, emergency management, and severe weather communication and its impacts on social science. She is a member of the Student Chapter of the AMS/NWA and she plays the flute in the Pride of Oklahoma, where she serves on its leadership team. She is a member of Tau Beta Sigma, a national honorary service sorority for bands, and has performed in both the Sound of the Sooners basketball band and campus bands the past two years. She chose the University of Oklahoma because of its colocation with the National Weather Center as well as notable severe weather entities such as the SPC and NSSL. She was also drawn to OU’s sense of community and the collaborative nature of faculty in the School of Meteorology.
