Dr. Tammy Weckwerth

National Center for Atmospheric Research

Dr. Weckwerth is a Scientist III in NCAR’s Earth Observing Laboratory (EOL). As an instrumentation expert, she has been on 17 field campaigns to assure optimal data collection for multiple research objectives defined by university PIs. As an observational researcher in EOL, she uses data from radars, lidars, soundings, wind profilers, cloud photographs, aircraft data, satellite imagery, and surface stations to study mesoscale meteorology. Her concentration is on convection and the relationship between organized structures within the planetary boundary layer, waves, and the initiation of thunderstorms.
