Philippine Tropical Cyclone Activity: Climatology, ENSO Impacts and Classification

Irenea Lodangco

Irenea Lodangco received B. Sc. in Computer Science from Central Colleges of the Philippines, Diploma in Meteorology from the University of the Philippines and Masters of Remote Sensing from the same university. Irenea worked at the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) from 1990 to 2006, initially as Weather Observer then as Meteorologist. In 2006, she came to the University of Oklahoma to pursue Ph.D. in Meteorology. Her research includes tropical cyclone (TC) activity in Western North Pacific with emphasis on TCs over the Philippine region, quantifying the ENSO impacts and classification and regionalization of TCs over the Philippine domain.
