Weather and Climate Systems Seminar Series: Speaker

A Regional Climatology and Synoptic Pattern Analysis of Winter Storms in the Southern Great Plains 1993-2011

Esther Mullens
OU School of Meteorology / CIMMS

Esther Mullens (White) is a Doctoral Student at the University of Oklahoma (OU). Her research focuses’ on characterizing the synoptic and thermodynamic evolution of multi-phase winter storms in the Southern Great Plains through climatological analysis, and high resolution numerical modeling, using the Weather Research and Forecasting model (WRF-ARW). Esther has been at OU since 2008. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom, with an exchange year at the University of Oklahoma. Esther has a keen interest in climate variability and change, and has participated in short term projects and internships in this field, including at the UK Met Office, University of Reading, and Oklahoma Climatological Survey/Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program.
