National Weather Center Colloquium: Speaker Bio

Dynamics of inner core rainbands observed in tropical cyclones

Dr. Anthony Didlake, Jr.
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center

Originally from Detroit, MI, Dr. Didlake began pursuing his lifelong interest in meteorology as an undergraduate at Yale University. At Yale, he conducted research on orographic precipitation with Ronald Smith. After receiving his B.S. in Geology and Geophysics in 2006, Anthony matriculated to the University of Washington for his graduate studies, where he researched tropical cyclone dynamics under the direction of Robert Houze. Anthony received his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences in 2012. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center doing work on airborne radar observations from the recently developed HIWRAP radar. Aside from meteorology, Anthony is an avid fan of tennis, music, and traveling.
