Senior Spotlight 2021 – Andrew Kramer

Senior Spotlight 2021 – Andrew Kramer

This year we are continuing our tradition of Senior Spotlights! For everyone, 2020 and 2021 have been challenging years, but we want to highlight our amazing seniors for preserving through these difficult times.

Meet Andrew Kramer! He’s from Lockport, Illinois (Go Porters!), and his meteorology started when he was just four years old.

“My fascination with meteorology began when I was only four years old with the tornado scene from The Wizard of Oz,” he said. “To then get a more accurate depiction of tornadoes, I was shown Twister by my parents shortly after. I have wanted to study meteorology ever since. Something as simple as Dusty’s OU hat is a big reason I am here today.”

So he headed for Norman!

To him, the toughest part of college was time management and organization.

“Work can pile up so quickly across so many subjects, it was very easy to get lost or feel overwhelmed.”

But college is not all difficult times!

Myfavoritepartabout college has been making so many friends during my time here,” he said. “We all have our come from different parts of the country and have come to OU because of our love for meteorology. Countless football games, parties, and late nights studying in the National Weather Center later, these are people I want to know and stay in touch with for the rest of my life.”

After graduation in May, Andrew plans to continue his education and pursue a master’s degree in atmospheric science at the University of North Dakota!

Congratulations, Andrew! The School of Meteorology is excited to see all you do in the future!
