Three OU SoM Students Received The Outstanding Student Presentation Award for Atmospheric Sciences

On March 11th, 2024, The American Geophysical Union selected 20 out of 344 students to receive the 2023 Outstanding Student Presentation Award (OSPA) for the Atmospheric Sciences Section. Out of these twenty students, three of them came from The University of Oklahoma, School of Meteorology.

These students are:

  1. Abdulamid Fakoya (University of Oklahoma): Exploring the Evolution of Light-Absorption Properties of Biomass Burning Emissions in the Southeast Atlantic Region
  2. Bryony Puxley (University of Oklahoma): Precipitation Whiplash Events: Defining Them and Their Impacts
  3. Saurabh Patil ((University of Oklahoma): The dependence of intense updrafts on environmental conditions and their impact on cloud microphysical properties observed during ESCAPE
