Summer Internship in Earth System Science at Princeton/NOAA-GFDL
Applications are currently being requested for the 2020 round of summer internships at the NOAA-funded Cooperative Institute for Modeling the Earth System (CIMES), at Princeton and NOAA-GFDL. Interns will receive a stipend of $700/week and a $300/week housing allowance for those interns not living at home, and reimbursement for travel from their home institution. Interns will have access to Princeton University rental housing. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree program at time of application, and either a US Citizen or permanent resident, or authorized to work in the USA.
This internship aims to expose students from underrepresented groups to the research environment in climate and earth system science. A statement describing contributions to increasing diversity in STEM is an important component of the application package, and broadening participation in climate and earth-system science is the goal of the internship program. CIMES particularly encourages applications from students whose participation will add to the diversity of researchers in earth system science, including students from underrepresented groups, and first-generation college students. The deadline is January 15th, 2020.
