Andrea Gordon

Andrea is a senior meteorology major from Rosemount, MN. She is minoring is music and mathematics. Andrea has been an Undergraduate Research Assistant with the Convection, Chemistry, and Climate Research Group for the past 2 years. She is interested in severe storms and the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere (UTLS), particularly with how overshooting convection and transport affect atmospheric processes involving trace gasses. She is also the Undergraduate Vice-Chair for the Student Affairs Committee, in addition to being involved with meteorology organizations such as the New Student Mentoring Program, Weather Friends, and the Oklahoma Weather Lab. Outside of meteorology she was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma marching band and Wind Symphony, and is currently a member of Tau Beta Sigma – an honorary music service sorority. Andrea was interested in the meteorology program at OU because of how personable everyone in the program is, and the variety of available student opportunities due to its co-location with the National Weather Center.
