Katie Giannakopoulis

Katie Giannakopoulos is a junior in the School of Meteorology from Amherst, New Hampshire. She is minoring in mathematics and is a 2020 Ernest F. Hollings Scholar. Her meteorological interests include the effect of aerosols on climate, tornadogenesis, and tropical cyclones. She is the junior representative for OU’s chapter of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association (SCAN) and works for CIMMS as a research assistant studying the Atmospheric Boundary Layer and dual-pol radar. She chose the University of Oklahoma because of the close-knit community within the School of Meteorology, and the opportunity to learn through hands-on experiences at the National Weather Center!
