Senior Spotlight May 2021 – Kaela Williams

This year we are continuing our tradition of Senior Spotlights! For everyone, 2020 and 2021 have been challenging years, but we want to highlight our amazing seniors for preserving through these difficult times.

Meet Kaela Williams! She is from Norman, Oklahoma. Kaela always knew she had a love for meteorology, but after the May 20, 2013 tornado hit so close to home, she knew it was the career for her.

Kaela says the toughest part of college was finding the right time management skills. She says it was a big transition from high school.

Her favorite part of college was being in the Pride of Oklahoma marching band!

After graduation, Kaela plans to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to pursue a Master’s in Atmospheric Science. She’ll be working on a field campaign studying QLCS tornadoes next spring.

Congratulations, Kaela! The School of Meteorology is excited to see all you do in the future!
